On May 11-12-13, 2001 a conference was held in Padova, Italy, on
LET'S BUILD THE FUTURE
TOWARDS A NEW PLANETARY AWARENESS
the purpose of the conference was the aware development of the evolutionary lines of the new civilization.
This document should be used by everybody who intends to deal with issues and orientations useful for developing a new planetary awareness; to choose which kin d of changes should be affirmed at the beginning of a new age, in order to create our new destiny together, aware of what we are doing.
Scholars, researchers from a wide variety of fields of scientific and spiritual research - such as economists, ar chitects, esoteric researchers, psychoanalists, founders of new disciplines, educators, ethnologists, etc. have dealt with issues, belonging to the following theme areas.
a) Developing human potential in the New Age; b) Spirituality and new dimensions of inner research; c) New spirituality, Economy and society in the New Age; d) Man and Cosmic Life; e) Educating children and the New Man; f) Nutrition in its various aspects and energy relationships; g) Art and spirituality;
in order to define FUNDAMENTAL ORIENTATIONS of the new civilization, to allow it to develop in a healthy and positive manner.
Here are the THEMES, ORIENTATIONS (evolutionary lines) and PROPOSALS which came out of the conference, and which we submit for reflection and further development by everybody. These points are indicative of orientations and themes, not of a programme.
THEMES AND ORIENTATIONS
1) Spirituality and daily life; 2) The quality of life; 3) Global research - inner/material/social; 4) Behaviour and ideals should be consistent; 5) Sharing what we have in common; 6) Setting up work groups on practical issues; 7) Promoting the integration of every science and of knowledge; 8) Developing human potential and the central role of the Person; 9) New patterns of community life; 10) Plu rality of spiritual paths and freedom of choice; 11) Global health: plurality of therapies and freedom of choice.
Next to these themes, the conference formulated some orientations for the new planet-wide civilization:
*LIFE. Life in its every manifestation - animal, vegetable, and so on - must be preserved and developed as a fundamental principle of orientation, in every part of the Earth and the Universe. Especially, EACH HUMAN BEING must be allowed to develop all his or her capacities; creative education-training; education to freedom of choice in every field; the full possession of his or her own being: material, psychological, mental and spiritual.
*RELATIONSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSE in all its shapes and dimensions, and with the terrestrial and extraterrestrial environment. The conservation of the environment, both on Planet Earth and in Outer Space, and of the life forms in it, must be promoted by avoiding any kind of destructive action. When exploring Extraterrestrial Space, we must avoid any kind of ac tion leading to any kind of conflict. An Interplanatary and Space Law must be developed to ensure application of these guidelines during exploration.
* The environment, living beings and consciences must be respected.
*The CONSCIENCES/CONSCIOUSNESSES of any kind present in the cosmos should be approached in a spirit of Peace, mutual knowledge and co-operation.
*In scientific and every other kind of research (including research on a psychological, mental or spiritual plane), one should comply with the PRINCIPLE OF PRECAUTION: no kind of research, application or production must imply risks of destruction, including alterations or changes which induce or can induce transformations which cannot be completely controlled, or the interactions and consequences of which we know too little about.
*The benefit ratio in any field of research or production must never put to risk the existence of Planet Earth, or of other planets or their satellites, or of their parts and ecosystems, however small. We need to find s upra-individual, supra-industrial and supra-national patterns, as well as patterns in the framework of space law, for governing and directing the kind of behaviour which can have an impact on the environment, with destructive consequences towards the envi ronment, whether terrestrial or extraterrestrial, or conflicts with any form of life and intelligence, including non-human forms.
*THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION must be applied so that everybody can have access to information, and can verify them; in ever field of research, every application and in society.
*ECONOMY, TECHNOLOGY, SOCIETY, ART AND SPIRITUALITY- The elevation of CONSCIOUSNESS must be the guiding element of economy, technology, society, art and scientific research, and the point of reference for any other human activity everywhere in the Universe.
*INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT--INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE PERSON MUST BE ENSURED FROM THE MOMENT OF CONCEPTION, under every aspect: spiritual, psychological, mental and material.
*DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEW MAN and of the CHILD - The fundamental premise is the development of SELF-AWARENESS by giving value to the phases of experience of individual existences.
*DEPENDENCE of any kind must be rooted out from the start during the development of the Person.
*PREVENTION- Prevention must be the fundamental guiding criterion in every field, from health to any kind of activity.
*INTEGRAL ECOLOGY is an orientation which must be extended and integrated: a) as INTERIOR HYGIENE; b) as a concept which includes behaviour aimed at protection and prevention against any kind of pollution, not only biological but also chemical and physical.
*NUTRITION. This must be taken as a factor which contributes to building planetary consciousness and as an overall process of development of man, in terms of energy, matter and spirit.
*ART is fundamental for developing the new planetary consciousness.
PLEASE DISSEMINATE this document (which is not and must not be presented as a programme, but as a range of issues and orientations open to contribution by everybody). Anybody may promote it, disseminating it through the systems available to him or to her, reprint it and send it to every part of the world, in any language. Please get in touch with the Promoters of the Conference in order to develop initiatives and information needed in order to develop the WORLDWIDE NETWORK FOR A NEW PLANETARY CONSCIOUSNESS.
